Expanded recruiting resources launching September 2026
The athlete owns the recruiting process. MI Legends provides guidance, feedback, resources, and support, but the athlete is responsible for completing assigned steps, maintaining communication, meeting academic requirements, and following through with college programs. Parents provide support while allowing the athlete to communicate directly and develop ownership of her college search.Recruiting support does not guarantee contact, an offer, a roster position, admission, or athletic or academic financial aid from any college.
Create a player profile, collect quality video, begin researching colleges, identify academic and athletic preferences, and develop an initial target list.
Communicate with appropriate college programs, share video and schedules, attend selected camps or prospect events, update the target list, and consistently follow up.
Compare academic, athletic, financial, and personal fit; complete admissions and financial-aid requirements; and carefully evaluate roster opportunities before making a decision.
Create a current recruiting profile that includes the athlete’s graduation year, position, height, academic information, contact information, team details, video links, upcoming schedule, and relevant athletic achievements.
Build a balanced college list based on academic fit, athletic level, position needs, location, campus preferences, cost, and the athlete’s overall college goals. The target list should include realistic options at multiple levels.
Athletes should learn to write professional, personalized messages to college coaches, respond promptly, ask thoughtful questions, and consistently follow up. Parents should allow the athlete to lead communication whenever appropriate.
Recruiting video should clearly identify the athlete and show position-relevant skills, game play, movement, decision-making, and competitive ability. Video should be current, easy to access, and updated as the athlete develops.
MI Legends athletes may request assistance with recruiting readiness, player profiles, target-school lists, coach communication, video review, or general recruiting strategy.
Athletes should complete the Recruiting Support Request Form before scheduling an individual recruiting meeting.
Additional recruiting templates, checklists, official eligibility resources, and educational materials will be added beginning September 2026.
