Every MI Legends athlete is required to complete 10 hours of community service during the club year. Service is part of our commitment to helping athletes compete, develop, lead, and serve beyond the volleyball court.
MI Legends Foundation service projects provide club athletes with organized opportunities to support the community alongside teammates, coaches, families, and Foundation volunteers. Upcoming Foundation service opportunities, registration instructions, locations, and available volunteer roles will be posted here and communicated through PlayMetrics.
Participation in a Foundation event is not automatically recorded. Athletes must follow the event check-in and service-verification instructions to receive credit.
Athletes may complete service hours through a school, church, nonprofit organization, community program, or other approved service opportunity. Service must be unpaid, benefit the community or an eligible organization, and be completed outside the athlete’s normal household responsibilities. Athletes should request approval in advance if they are unsure whether an outside activity qualifies.
Athletes must submit a Community Service Submission Form after each service activity. Submit one form for each organization, event, or service date.
The submission must include:
• Athlete name and team
• Organization or event name
• Date and location of service
• Description of the work completed
• Number of service hours
• Name and contact information of an adult supervisor
• Supporting documentation when requested
Service hours should be submitted within 14 days of completing the activity. Hours are not considered complete until they have been submitted and verified.
MI Legends may contact the listed supervisor or request additional documentation before approving submitted hours. Incomplete, unverifiable, paid, or otherwise ineligible service may be declined.
Athletes and families are responsible for monitoring progress toward the 10-hour requirement. MI Legends will provide periodic updates, but the athlete remains responsible for completing and submitting all required hours.
